Starting point for the sketch design is to position the new faculty building on the site of the old building along the Berlageweg (see map 1) at the campus of Delft University of Technology (see map 2).

As shown on map 1, a small ecological area lies between the former building and the Faculty of Civil Engineering. This area should be respected.

In 2010 a tram will connect Delft Central Station with the campus and the location of the former building.
